So a LOOONG walk ahead from Pamplona and we walked away from the city famous for its bull runs, with a little more rain…
It dried up a bit as we left the suburbs, into the countryside again
and I put on some tunes….
We walked through the fields up towards Cizur Menor and onto Zariquiegui for lunch
The we continued on up to Alto de Perdón at 790m, where we pass by wind turbines and a wrought iron art installation showing pilgrims of the past, “Where the way of the wind crosses the way of the stars”
on the other side we could see out route west, with Puerta La Reina in sight in the distance.
and so we descend down past piles of rocks, that fellow pilgrims are piling up in nice displays…
This dude passed me by
and we carried on and on, past a boy selling lemonade for pilgrims (if you could afford it)
until we had to stop to rest at Obanos…
After a quick rest we struggled onto the last few km to Puente La Reina…
A bird away up atop a huge nest..
Our accomodation was Hotel Yerri….and we went out for a nice meal and met fellow travellers…
